etc The Development CommitteeThe scrutiny body of the Society, concerned with the maintenance and improvement of our environment. It responds to planning applications in Salisbury District, and encourages architectural projects of quality through its Conservation and New Buildings Awards. It also seeks to encourage informed debate of current issues. Chairman: Melanie Latham The committee meets monthly General Purposes CommitteeThe internal arrangements of the Society are made, especially with specific reference to the interests of the 320 members. Visits and lecture meetings are organised on a monthly basis. (See programme of events) The promotion of the Society is made by the publicity of activities, through the members’ newsletter, the media and the website.
