New and rescheduled events for 202128th September 2020
All is not lost! In spite of unavoidable cancellations this year, most of the events have been rescheduled for 2021, thanks to the generosity and flexibility of speakers, hosts, venues and the hard work of members of the GP committee.
We hope to open our 2021 events in May with a talk from Pippa Goldfinger. Pippa is an experienced arts manager, a qualified engineer and urban planner, founder of Frome’s Architecture Club, and an independent Town Councillor. There will be a visit to Norrington Manor, the Grade 1 listed Manor House in Alvediston. A tour of the Melbury Vale Winery in July and a walk through the city in August exploring St George, Dragons and Medieval Salisbury! Phil Harding has promised to talk at our AGM. The Blue Plaque to Wolfe Frank will be unveiled on October 1st, this being the 75th anniversary of the day that Wolfe Frank, announced the sentences of the court to the Nazi war criminals – the event that earned him the sobriquet ‘The Voice of Doom’.
As restrictions and regulations are changing all the time we will be regularly updating the diary to keep you informed of event dates and times as they are confirmed.
