Visit to Melbury Vale Vineyard, Shaftesbury

An evening visit to the Melbury Vale Vineyard, Shaftesbury has been arranged for members.  The vineyard is a family-owned, rural business specialising in the production of wines, liqueurs, brandies and ciders.

The on-site winery was completed and in production for 2013.    It is built into the hillside with a number of sustainable design features; including wild flower meadow roof and rain water harvesting to encourage sustainability. Enquiries for new vineyards to be planted in the area came rolling in, with over 5,000 new vines already planted locally in response to the winery appearing and more still being planted nearby today.
Tickets:  £18.50 to include (cheese). and biscuits at the end (Please be aware there will be an additional  booking fee of £2.03 per ticket)

Venue: Melbury Vale Vineyard, Foot’s Hill, Cann, Shaftesbury SP7 0BW [just off the A350, on Foots Hill, about  1.5 miles south of Shaftesbury at Cann Bridge]
Start time: 6.30 – 8.30
What you’ll need:   Some warm clothing if it’s a chilly evening as you will be outside in the vineyard for some of the tour and waterproofs if it’s raining.
