Talk: Repairing the Cathedral Spire, Thurs 8 November

A busy week of Society events ahead! Rod Baillie-Grohman and Richard Deane, two former Cathedral stonemasons will be giving a talk on repairing the Cathedral spire, looking in particular at the Spire Appeal work and the preparations for it, in the 1970s, 80s and 90s. There will also be a brief look at earlier repair work across the centuries, and how things look regarding any need for future work.

The talk is open to everyone, members and their guests, and will be held on Thursday 8th November, at 6.30 p.m., at the Salisbury Methodist Church, St Edmund’s Church Street. Doors will open at 6 p.m. It will be free for members, and non-members will be welcome for £2.50 a head.
