Updating the Wiltshire Pevsner

Following a fascinating lecture  three years ago about updating the Wiltshire Pevsner,  Julian Orbach returned to talk about his updating work in the  Salisbury area.     He revealed that Salisbury has more pages devoted to it  than any other Wiltshire town due to the wealth of historic buildings and architectural features.    In many buildings  all is not what it seems in that items, such as fireplaces, have often been relocated from other buildings.    He led the audience in a walk down the High Street showing hidden details missed in earlier editions and also talked about intriguing features in plasterwork and cathedral monuments.  How lucky we are to live in this magnificent city surrounded by so much architectural heritage!
