The Maltings Redevelopment

Plans for part of the proposed Maltings redevelopment have been submitted to Wiltshire Council. The submission for the site, adjacent to the United Reformed Church (1879), on Fisherton Street marks the initial phase of the redevelopment of The Maltings to include the relocation of the new Salisbury library, a gym, maybe a restaurant and an 86 bed Premium Travelodge. The Civic Society has taken a keen interest in the project from the outset, and will be agreeing a response to put in on the planning application. Looking ahead, it will be equally interested in the subsequent application, due during 2019, to redevelop the existing library area, while still retaining the mid C19th stone facade facing the market place. This application is due to be accompanied by a master plan, covering the whole Maltings area.
